Alastair Majury on Old Doune Rd Improvements

Mini Pinch Points Are Going

As a result of the extra £750k secured by the Conservative led motion for substantive road repairs, the Old Doune Road is to see substantive road repairs worth over £35k. The stretch of road has regularly required temporary repairs with Local Conservative Councillor receiving a number of complaints regarding the condition of this road.

The section of Old Doune Road near the high school will see footway improvements, where the mini-pinch points will be removed commencing during the school holidays on the 2nd July, in advance of carriageway inlay works commencing on the 16thJuly. To ensure that pupil safety is not compromised as a result of the mini pinch points being removed traffic will be monitored and if required alternative more suitable traffic management features will be considered.

Local Conservative Councillor Alastair Majury said:

“I am pleased that council officers recognise that the mini pinch points did not add to pupil safety and increased wear and tear to the road. I’ve received a number of complaints relating to both the state of this road and the mini pinch points.”
