Cllr Alastair Majury on Full Fibre (FTTP)
Stirling (and Bridge of Allan) is set to transform into a world leading digital hub, as one of the first cities in the UK to benefit from the new Vodafone and CityFibre fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) programme. The city’s existing full fibre network — which was launched in 2017 to connect the city’s schools, libraries and community venues — will be expanded citywide to reach nearly every home and business in Stirling.
Whilst Dunblane currently isn’t in scope for this work, I am working with CityFibre for this to be included in future.
However, what is the difference between fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) and fibre-to-the-cabinet (FTTC)? CityFibre have produced some information to help explain the difference and benefits of fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP).

Alastair Majury resides locally in the historic Scottish city of Dunblane, and is a Senior Regulatory Business Analyst working across the country.
