Councillor Alastair Majury on Bridge of Allan Play Together Secure £10,000

After successfully surpassing their fundraising target for an inclusive roundabout at the Bridge of Allan’s Fountain park at their ‘Big Push’ event at Bridge of Allan’s Parish Church in September. Bridge of Allan Play Together has been able to secure an additional £10,000 from The National Lottery’s Community Fund Scotland, which will be used to fund more accessible play equipment for the park. This funding was awarded along with 172 other organisations have received the funding to mark the 25th birthday of the National Lottery later this month.

In addition to the Fountain Park gaining inclusive play equipment, Bridge of Allan Play Together are also working with Stirling Council in order to improve the path network in the park, to help ensure that they are inclusive friendly.

Local Dunblane and Bridge of Allan Councillor Alastair Majury said:

“This is yet another fantastic achievement by Jennifer and the rest of Bridge of Allan Play Together, which in addition to the other fundraising will help make the park an inclusive friendly park suitable for all children. It has been great to see Bridge of Allan Community Council, the local churches, and the rest of the community really rally around this essential concept of inclusive play.”

Alastair Majury resides locally in the historic Scottish city of Dunblane, and is a Senior Regulatory Business Analyst working across the country. Alastair Majury also serves on the local council (Stirling Council) as Councillor Alastair Majury where he represents the ward of Dunblane and Bridge of Allan, topping the poll.
